I had the honor of collaborating with Jordan Brand and Blue Ox Films for the 23rd anniversary of the Jordan Brand Classic—bringing it full circle to where it all began right here in the city. One of my biggest goals has always been to take up space behind the lens in rooms where I rarely saw anyone who looked like me. After being on so many sets over the years, I can count on one hand the times I saw a Black photographer in the lead. This time, that opportunity was mine.
I had the chance to photograph every athlete for their player cards—the ones that lit up the jumbotron. A full-circle moment. A proud one.
